PLAYERS: Dan Cleary
TEAMS: Detroit Red Wings

Detroit’s lost 5 straight. Even though I thought they played excellent for the time they were not on the PK last night, they still didn’t pull it through. Some people are calling for major changes to be made. Blow it up! We don’t want to be Calgary and live in mediocre land! This isn’t a playoff team! Stuff like that. I mean look at this, usually rational fan’s reaction after last night’s game: This is not a blip. It is not a “feeling out” period with new assistants. These are serious chemistry and system problems and Babcock refuses to actually address them, and I’m sick of it. And I’m sick of him always getting a free pass on it. As it stands now, this is *not* a playoff team. This is a lottery team and barring truly MAJOR moves, this my friends is the downfall every other fanbase has desperately waited decades for, so I hope you’re all ready to endure it unless Kenny Holland shows he still has a set and takes command. I say, hold up there good friend. This team is ...

Niklas Kronwall OK after big hit

DETROIT -- The Red Wings got some much-needed good news Wednesday -- defenseman Niklas Kronwall is fine. Kronwall appeared a little dazed after taking a hit from Minnesota's Mikko Koivu at the end of Tuesday night's game. Kronwall fell to the ice and Koivu was able to pass to Devin Setoguchi for the overtime game-winning goal. But Wednesday, Kronwall participated in full...

Video: Fake Henrik Zetterberg hangs with Fake Dikembe Mutombo

Fake Henrik Zetterberg is the web series created by Greg DeLiso and Jacob Hawkins that takes the premise of their hilarious Zetterberg bathroom routine clip from 2009 and expands it into an "Office Space"-esque comedy series featuring the faux Detroit Red Wings player. Episode 1 was a lot of setup, as we meet the cute girl in the office Hank's crushing on and the scarf...

Red Wings stars can't shake scoring slumps

The Red Wings talked extensively about getting back to basics before losing, 4-1, on Thursday night at Joe Louis Arena to Calgary, the latest in a string of one-goal performances. They talked about it again afterward, as neither Henrik Zetterberg nor Pavel Datsyuk, the team's superstar forwards, had a shot on net after 40 minutes and only combined for three in the third period.

Did Anyone Care?

I'm so glad I didn't waste a Defiance post on that. Seemed like the team just wanted to coast around and have the puck go in because they're the Red Wings and they should beat the Flames. As you can see, that wasn't the case. Most of the Red Wings did not skate hard. Those that did made terrible decisions with the puck. Kiprusoff was rarely challenged. I keep hearing...
