Krug (left, short) and Hamilton (right, tall)Barry Chin/The Boston Globe via Getty Images So which one do you like? The playoff juggernaut who was instrumental in taking down King Henrik Lundqvist and the Rangers last year or the blue liner prodigy already likened to Boston favorites Orr and Bourque? They both have nicknames revolving around the music industry with Mötley Krüg, Goals, Goals, Goals and Teach Me How to Dougie and they are both great young defensemen. Honestly I think there is no this one is better than that one but it comes down to more of a personal preference of play or a situational deployment. I like Dougie Hamilton in a more defensive role. If he is out there trying to protect the lead late in a game I feel confident in his ability. I like Torey Krug if I need a goal now to tie it up or to win it. At times he is practically a 4th forward attacking the net. I’ll take either on the power play but Krug seems to have that touch on the puck that just gets it t...

Torey Krug Focusing On Bruins, Not Olympics Despite Solid Showing in Front of Team USA Brass

BOSTON — Torey Krug is worried about roster spots and cracking the lineup, but it might not be the lineup you would think. When Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma, who will also serve as Team USA head coach at the Winter Olympics in February, said Monday that Krug was “without hesitation” being looked at for a spot on the roster, it may have been a bit of a surprise...

Tiny Torey Krug Measures Up

At just 5’9” he is one of the smallest players in the league, but Torey Krug’s game is anything but. Debuting with four goals in five games in last year’s Eastern Conference Semifinals he helped the B’s topple the Rangers and he hasn’t slowed down a bit to start his rookie season. Currently tied for first in goals scored among defensemen with seven, he averages nearly...

There’s at least a chance that Krug is representing...

Torey Krug might get a chance to play for Team USA

The Boston Bruins in all likelihood were already sending a lot of players to the Winter Olympics in Russia. Important cogs such as Patrice Bergeron, Zdeno Chara, Tuukka Rask and David Krejci were likely candidates with Loui Eriksson, Milan Lucic and maybe even Carl Soderberg great candidates to also go. (Soderberg has issues with Sweeden’s governing body, but he seems too good...

Krug lifts Bruins in OT

After the Bruins allowed the Penguins' Sidney Crosby to tie the game with .3 seconds left in regulation, they didnt waste much time moping about it. Torey Krug Soaking Up ‘Special’ Opportunity to Play in Front of Family, Friends During Detroit Homecoming (Video)

Torey Krug made it home for the holidays. The young defenseman grew up just outside of Detroit, played some games at Joe Louis Arena while in the minors and also spent some time in the stadium while at Michigan State, but Wednesday night marks the first time Krug will take the familiar ice in an NHL regular-season game. With family and friends coming out in droves to watch Krug and...

Red Wings-Bruins quick take: unexpected but pleasantly surprising

The end wasn't pretty--Torey Krug's skate put in a Gustav Nyquist goal and Jarome Iginla may or may not have kicked in a goal that spoiled Jonas Gustavsson's shutout, but the first 57 minutes of the Red Wings' 6-1 win over the Boston Bruins was... Masterful. As if the Wings had chosen to finally give their fans a little bit of deferred compensation for their awful...
