NEW YORK (Dec. 13, 2011) – Tampa Bay Lightning forward Steve Downie has been fined $2,500, the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for leaving the bench on a legal line change to become involved in an altercation in NHL Game No. 408 in New York on Thursday, Dec. 8, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today. The Tampa Bay Lightning have agreed to terms with free-agent forward Antti Miettinen on a two-year contract. The team announced the move Monday. Miettinen appeared in 20 games with Ak-Bars Kazan of Russia's Kontinental Hockey League this season. He played with Minnesota during the 2010-11 season when he had 16 goals and 35 points in 73 games.
