Detroit Red Wings right wing Kris Draper is expected to announce his retirement Tuesday. The team has announced that Draper will hold a news conference at 11 a.m. ET attended by general manager Ken Holland. The Detroit News is reporting that Draper will retire from the NHL. Draper, 40, has spent virtually his entire career with the Red Wings, collecting 161 goals and 203 assists while helping Detroit win Stanley Cup championships in 1997, 1998, 2002 and 2008. Draper spent parts of three seasons with the Winnipeg Jets before joining Detroit in 1993. He had six goals and five assists in 47 games last season. In 2004, Draper won the Selke Trophy as the league's best defensive forward.
