BEST OF MAXIM
Lost in the Cody Hodgson hoopla was the fact that the Canucks made another trade on trade deadline day, acquiring Sami Pahlsson for a pair of fourth round draft picks and Taylor Ellington. This was a much more predictable trade than the Hodgson trade (in fact, I named him as a possibility yesterday, Eklund’s got nothin’ on me).
The acquisition of Pahlsson is a good one, even...
C-Mac’s Report Card
I teach…therefore I grade. Gear up for the ride Vancouver Canucks fans.
The New Jersey Devils are named after a supposed legendary creature that inhabits the desolate Pine Barrens of New Jersey.
However, the Canucks team that rolled through the state last Friday night, dumping the host Devils, has been an even greater road beast this season, seeing as they...
WHAT'S SO DARN FUNNY?
Check out the video.
Even through the Vancouver Canucks lost to the Dallas Stars, Canucks coach Alain Vigneault couldn’t stop laughing during part of Sunday’s game.
He was cracking up so badly that he had to cover his face with his lineup card. Apparently, Stars’ forward Vernon Fiddler did an impression of Kevin Bieksa’s angry face. Bieska plays for the Canucks.

This is close to the blockbuster deal everyone was waiting for. The Vancouver Canucks have dealt Cody Hodgson -- a legitimate Calder Trophy candidate right now -- to Buffalo along with Alexander Sulzer. Hodgson was the tenth overall pick in 2008 and is currently fifth among all rookies in total points with 33 this season -- doing so in fairly limited minutes on a loaded Vancouver...
Canucks swap key pieces with Buffalo
And just like that, the stud is gone.
To the absolute shock of Canucks nation and the entire NHL, talented rookie Cody Hodgson was traded to the Buffalo Sabres yesterday in exchange for “a force” – hard-hitter and winger Zack Kassian.
Fans are surprised that the team canned the All-Star before he’d fully had a chance to prove himself....

The Vancouver Canucks made a pair of trades Monday, adding Blue Jackets center Samuel Pahlsson and acquiring right wing Zack Kassian and defenseman Marc-Andre Gragnani from Buffalo in exchange for center Cody Hodgson and defenseman Alexander Sulzer.
In perhaps the most surprising deal on trade deadline day, the Vancouver Canucks acquired forward Zack Kassian from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for rookie forward Cody Hodgson.
The two teams also swapped blueliners, with Marc-Andre Gragnani heading to Vancouver and Alexander Sulzer going to Buffalo.
The 6-3, 214-pound Kassian will provide much needed size...
