Teemu Selanne put it best: "We took too many stupid penalties." The ducks blew their chance to start strong in defending the Stanley cup, giving Dallas 4 power-play goals. While the ducks pride themselves on the physical style they play, they simply made too many bad penalties. they had 3 penalties in the offensive zone, which immediately led to 3 power-play goals by the stars. The Stars took the season series 5-3, however the ducks have taken the last two meetings of the regular season (one in a shootout). Every game played this year that Dallas has scored a power-play goal, they've won the game. So while the excessive penalties were to blame, so was the sub-par penalty kill. While I initially thought the ducks would come out strong and win in 6, i now see this going to 7 games, as I'm confident Randy Carlyle can make the necessary adjustments to fix the special teams woes. Ducks in 7! Notable Stats: SOG - ANA 23, DAL 37 Penalties - ANA 11, DAL 7 PP - ANA 0-3, DAL 4-7 Faceoffs Won - ANA 29, DAL 26 Score - ANH 0, DAL 4
