Found December 30, 2011 on Kukla's Korner:
from Eric Duhatschek of the Globe and Mail, Could there be a more disappointing NHL team this year than Anaheim, where the Ducks have just 10 wins in 36 games and appear to be getting worse, not better, since the coaching change from Randy Carlyle to Bruce Boudreau. Under Boudreau, the Ducks are 3-7-2; and goaltender Jonas Hiller looks as if he has zero confidence now. Anaheim is leaky defensively and everyone can share the blame for that - its inexperienced defence corps and forwards that in Thursday night’s loss to the Vancouver Canucks back-checked with all the urgency of a Sunday driver, out for a leisurely ride. The Big Three (Ryan Getzlaf, Bobby Ryan, Corey Perry) is underperforming; there is limited support from the supporting cast and maybe the saddest thing of all is that they are wasting Teemu Selanne’s final NHL season; he is the one bright spot on a team that looks as if it is going nowhere in a hurry; and has little of hope of making a second-half surge to the playoff...

Ducks pull off surprising road win

Just as their road losing streak was about to stretch to a full two months, the Ducks pulled off something illogical to finally walk out of a visiting arena with their heads held high. Goals by Luca Sbisa, Bobby Ryan and Andrew Cogliano allowed the Ducks to stay one step ahead of San Jose all night as they continued their mastery of the Sharks this season with their third win in...

Ducks LW Blake could return Wednesday

Anaheim Ducks winger Jason Blake could return to action as early as Wednesday, according to the Orange County Register. Blake, who has been out since cutting his wrist on a skate on October 14, is practicing regularly and head coach Bruce Boudreau told reporters he expects to see Blake on the ice either Wednesday, versus the San Jose Sharks, or Friday, against the New York Islanders...

State of the Franchise: How the Anaheim Ducks Will Look at Season's End

Orange county is a lonely place to be for the local hockey fan. At 14 points out of a playoff spot, and second to last in the Western Conference, the Anaheim Duck's only real competition for last place is coming from the Columbus Blue Jackets. Knowing Anaheim's tendency over the past few years of playing far better in the second half of the season then the first, you might...

Giguere leads Avs to win in Anaheim

Jean-Sebastien Giguere still has fond memories of nearly a decade spent between these pipes, winning and losing a Stanley Cup with the Anaheim Ducks. With signs, chants and multiple standing ovations, the grateful Anaheim crowd showed it hasn't forgotten "Jiggy." The goalie then reminded his former team he can still stop pucks for the Colorado Avalanche. Giguere made...

Aaron Musick: Avs ring in New Year with win in Anaheim

Even without the services of star forward Matt Duchene, the Avs were able to power their way by the flightless Anaheim Ducks. Ducks Coach Slow On The Uptake About Why A Dead Duck Was Thrown On The Ice

By now you have likely seen the video or at least heard about what occurred Monday night at HP Pavilion when a Sharks fan threw a dead duck on the ice during a game between Anaheim and San Jose. Further, I imagine most of you out there were able to connect the dots about why [...]

The Anaheim Ducks are the center of HBO's universe

Undoubtedly, there have been two stars of the HBO 24/7 series for the past two Winter Classics (Winters Classic?). Last year in preparation for the game between the Capitals and Penguins, Bruce Boudreau rose to fame for his colorful language. Well, colored with F-bombs, anyways. Boudreau and Alex Ovechkin didn't get along, and he was dumped and almost immediately picked up by...

Sabres healing slowly, look to climb standings

It was the final straw for Bruce Boudreau's Washington Capitals, a 5-1 loss on Nov. 26 at the Buffalo Sabres, who were missing nine regulars. The Sabres were more or less their minor-league affiliate, the Rochester Americans. Not anymore. The Caps saw a little bit of it earlier in the ...
