Emotional Selanne searches for answers

Referencing last year's playoff loss to the Nashville Predators, Teemu Selanne provided an omen during the conference call to announce that he would re-join the Anaheim Ducks for his 41-year old season. "Before you have to win something big, you have to go through some tough times as a group," Selanne said in September. The 2011-12 Ducks have the "tough times...

Ducks Losing Heart As Well As Games

There is an old definition of insanity - doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.  Right about now, both Ducks fans and the Anaheim Ducks team are completely, certifiably insane.  Ducks fans are insane because they keep showing up (or watching) games, expecting a win every time.  They figure the losing streak has to end sometime, and yet the results...

Toronto Maple Leafs D Luke Schenn scores first goal of season in 5-2 win against Anaheim Ducks

Just when the Anaheim Ducks offence onslaught was pressuring to turn the tide from a two-goal deficit to a one-goal, Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Luke Schenn made a significant dump of the puck from nearly 180 feet out. It went through the Anaheim traffic in the Maple Leafs’ zone and trickled down the centre of the ice rink, spanning the distance and directly in...

Problems In Anaheim

from Mark Whicker of the OC Register, Hockey clubs are strolling into Honda Center like kids invading a game room. There is no fear and little hesitation. When the Ducks can’t score they lose, and when they do score and get a lead, they also lose. They have injuries. Lubomir Visnovsky’s speed and stick handling are chronically missed. But, with all the respect to the thoroughly...
