ANAHEIM, Calif. The Ducks announced Thursday that the club has signed left wing Patrick Maroon to a one-year contract extension through the 2012-13 season. Per club policy, financial terms were not disclosed. Maroon, 24 (42388), appeared in two games for the Ducks last season, going scoreless with two penalty minutes (PIM). The 6-3, 231-pound winger was recalled from Anaheims primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL) on Oct. 24 and made his NHL debut the following night in Chicago, logging 15:19 time-on-ice (TOI). He also appeared on Oct. 27 at Minnesota before being reassigned to Syracuse (AHL), where he played the remainder of the season. Maroon collected 32-42=74 points with a 17 rating and 120 PIM in 75 games with the Crunch, setting career highs in goals, assists, points and plusminus.
