And yet another example of why it’s always a risk to broadcast live. Kings captain Dustin Brown was asked after his team beat the Devils 6-1 in Game 6 to win the Stanley Cup if he ever thought the team would win it all. His answer involved a cuss word “You never know … that’s why we ****ing play.”
I am surprised this doesn’t happen more often. Dustin Brown, the Captain for the Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, dropped an “f-bomb” on live TV last night when he was interviewed by NBC’s Pierre McGuire. Eh, what do you expect after you just won the greatest trophy in all of sports? Congrats to the [...]
First off, we here at Outside the Boxscore would like to congratulate the Los Angeles Kings for winning the 2012 Stanley Cup over the New Jersey Devils.
Kings captain Dustin Brown was the first person to be interviewed about the victory by NBC's Pierre McGuirre.
After Pierre asked a question about hoisting the Stanley Cup, Brown accidentally cursed in his response:
Dustin Brown had a moment of indecision. He couldn't seem to figure out exactly how to lift the Stanley Cup. Left hand on top, or right hand? Brown finally got it, and 45 years of frustration came out.
Kings fans, who had endured the lowest of lows over the last five decades and were 19 years removed from their previous (and only) trip to the Stanley Cup final, roared their...
Dustin Brown and the Los Angeles Kings just won the Stanley Cup. And during his postgame interview, Brown was trying with all his might to find the right words to express how he feels. Tired of searching, Brown settles on “that’s why we f-ing play”.
Truer words have never been spoken.
Just when the Los Angeles Kings needed to set the tone early in Monday’s Stanley Cup victory, Dustin Brown responded.
And who better to lead the team to it’s first-even Stanley Cup championship.
Here’s how it all got started Monday:
The goal was his 8th of the playoffs. And just over a minute later, he assisted Jeff Carter’s goal which made it a 2-0 game.
Los Angeles Kings captain Dustin Brown brought the Stanley Cup trophy home, where he proceeded to fill it with chocolate milk and let his two sons blow bubbles in it.

You'll have to forgive Kings captain Dustin Brown for not being in lockstep with FCC regulations in this postgame interview. After all, he had just led the Los Angeles Kings to their first ever Stanley Cup after a 6-1 victory in Game 6 over the New Jersey Devils. Brown scored what would be the game-winning goal in the first period during a 5 minute power play thanks to Steve...
Kings captain Dustin Brown hoists the Stanley Cup. Image by Christian Petersen/Getty ImagesI saw something in the Los Angeles Kings from the very beginning of the 2012 National Hockey League season, protecting them to the represent Western Conference at the very beginning of the season. I put money on this team when the odds were 10/1 to win The Stanley Cup. Tonight, the 2012 Los...
The Los Angeles Kings' Stanley Cup trophy spent Tuesday morning in the backyard of team Capt. Dustin Brown's Manhattan Beach home, where his young sons blew chocolate milk bubbles in its top.
The boys, Jake and Mason, were videotaped playing with the trophy in Spiderman outfits by Brown's wife, Nicole.
Mike Altieri, the Kings' vice president of communications, said...
LA Kings captain Dustin Brown was interviewed by NBC's Pierre McGuirre after the team took home the Stanley Cup last night. He let viewers know why they play the ******* games.
Every time you...

This is a New Jersey Devils fan’s worst nightmare. The Kings blow out your team in an absolute display of Milhouse In Goal to win Lord Stanley’s Cup, and instead of treating it with reverence (or at least leveraging it for extra stripper time) the team captain takes it home, drops it off in his yard and lets his kids wear superhero jammies and drink Pediasure out of it. And...
Since there’s no artsy gallery of riot photos from downtown Los Angeles this morning, we’ve got the next best thing: players dropping f-bombs in live post-game interviews.
By way of Larry Brown Sports comes Kings captain Dustin Brown being asked if the ever thought the team would win it all following their 6-1 championship victory over the Devils in game 6. His response,...
The Los Angeles Kings have won the first Stanley Cup in franchise history, defeating the New Jersey Devils 6-1 in Game 6 on Monday night.
The Kings ended two streaks with the win at Staples Center. First, they brought to a halt the Devils' two-game winning streak that had many people talking of a colossal collapse after the Kings had won 15 of their first 17 playoff games and...
