Lowetide:
I'll remember the day Jordan Eberle was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers. Wall to wall grin and as we roll along it's a good starting point for the current cluster. Today or tomorrow or a week from now the Oilers will tell us how bad his current injury is and how long he'll be gone. Eberle's loss is a big one, and of course injuries are beginning to become a prominent theme for this gifted cluster. RNH is already on the shelf from a freak injury and Taylor Hall has missed time in both seasons due to injury (as has Eberle with the current problem).Feb 4, 2011: Jordan Eberle misses 13 games with sprained left ankle. March 5, 2011: Taylor Hall misses the final 17 games of the 10-11 season with ankle injury.Nov 30, 2011: Taylor Hall misses 7 games with shoulder injury. Jan 3, 2012: RNH injured and out with a shoulder injury. January 2012: Eberle injured and out with knee injury. We shouldn't get into the fetal position over this, but injuries to young players are a co...

G 42 Devils at Oilers
Las Vegas in the olden days must have been something else. The NHL will be expanding soon, 2 more teams are required to make things work. Among the possible cities are Toronto 2.0, Quebec City, Las Vegas, Seattle, Kansas City. The old KC Scouts are in town tonight.Steve Tambellini could help this team by adding a veteran defenseman now. I understand the hope is that Ryan Whitney...
Total Recall
The Edmonton Oilers have recalled Gilbert Brule, Magnus Paajarvi and Ryan O'Marra from Oklahoma City. We can imply a few things from this transaction, including the fact that Teemu Hartikainen and Josh Green didn't impress enough in their latest cup of coffee. We await news today on Jordan Eberle's injury, and there's a chance Brule won't get through waivers.
Edmonton Oilers coach Tom Renney says Steve Ott should be suspended
Anton Lander of the Edmonton Oilers got rocked by Steve Ott of the Dallas Stars on Saturday.
It was hard, fast, and a blind-sided hit. It even caused a ruckus between the two teams. And Oilers coach Tom Reeney says the hit to his player warrants a Shanaban.
Here’s what happened via the Score:
Ott received a two-minute penalty for the hit, and five for the fight.
Renney simply...
D-man tops Oilers' list
The general manager of the Edmonton Oilers is "actively shopping" for an experienced defenseman, according to Eric Francis of the Calgary Sun. GM Steve Tambellini could try to swing a multi-player deal involving either winger Ales Hemsky or center Sam Gagner. The Carolina Hurricanes and Toronto Maple Leafs are rumored to be interested in dealing a blue-liner.There's...
Oilers Lose Brule to Phoenix and Sign Potter
Although they haven’t played a game since Saturday, the Edmonton Oilers have been busy. The team has recalled players from the farm team to fill in roster holes left by injured players and are clearly looking forward with their current roster, deciding who should stay and who should go ahead of the NHL trade deadline next month.

Richard Cloutier: Oilers Call-up 2; Attempt to Call-Up a Third
Thanks to the 101 injuries the Oilers currently have, this morning they called up from the minors Magnus Paajarvi and Ryan O'Marra. They also placed forward Gilbert Brule on re-entry waivers, with the intention of calling him up tomorrow if he clears.
My instant-analysis is as follows:
Paajarvi - Rumor is, the Oilers will give him an opportunity to play on one of the top...
