When I was asked by Tom to write a post for ‘Embrace the Hate’, I accepted fully knowing that my troll talents would come to good use. What he wants me to do is “piss off” the Vancouver Canucks fan base and then said if my entry was good enough, a monetary donation would be made to charity. Whoa there Tom, settle down, you had my at “piss off the Vancouver Canucks fan base”. January 7, 2012 is being dubbed as the Stanley Cup “re-match” between the Boston Bruins and the Vancouver Canucks, although it can hardly be called a re-match because there isn’t anything up for grabs. If the Vancouver Canucks come into the TD Garden and blow the roof off the joint, what do they actually win? A hockey game. That’s it. Now, I’m sure that Canucks Nation, or whatever the hell you people call yourselves, will use that as an opportunity to chirp me and the other Bruins fans out there, but the ultimate chirp still hangs from the TD Garden rafters. That golden 2011 Stanley Cup Champions banner will alw...

Vancouver Canucks beat blogger Riley Trottier is back and better than ever. With some things to get off his chest. This week a special message to the Vancouver Canucks. What makes him angry about the Canucks and NHL this week? People who attack the other team’s fans. Also The focus on Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin. They’re having a great year, no doubt about it.
Like it or not, the book on how to beat the Vancouver Canucks is to push them around, to smack them around. The NHL is a copycat league, and when the spotlight was on the Canucks in the Stanley Cup Final, the Boston Bruins beat the Canucks on the scoreboard while beating them in the alley. Here’s what Henrik Sedin has to say about that:
You know what? I’m pretty tired of that...
Lost in the Canucks recent strong play is the fact a major weapon in David Booth is still out.
Booth anxious to return
"It's really frustrating and I wish it didn't happen," said Booth. "I thought I was playing better and now it's a process of getting back there. This was my third day on the ice and I've only been skating...
Vancouver, B.C. â Vancouver Canucks President and General Manager Mike Gillis announced today that the Canucks have re-assigned right wing Mark Mancari ...
Henrik Sedin has apparently had Twisted Sister on repeat on his iPod lately. The Canucks forward is fed up. He's not necessarily fed up with being pushed around -- as he and his brother Daniel Sedin have become known to accept -- but instead, Henrik is sick and tired of being asked about being pushed around. Los Angeles defenseman Drew Doughty became the latest to rough up the...
Michael Handzus scored the only goal in a shootout and the San Jose Sharks beat the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 on Monday night.
Jannik Hansen and Cody Hodgson scored for the Canucks in regulation.
Benn Ferriero and Patrick Marleau gave the Sharks a 2-1 lead midway through the game.
In the shootout, Handzus faked twice and then beat Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo on the stick side.
Canucks insider Kevin Vanstone breaks down the Game 39 matchup between the Vancouver Canucks vs. Los Angeles Kings. A 4-1 L.A. win. The Canucks were primed to take control of Saturday's game with a 4-minute power play. But the Kings came up with a huge penalty kill and their biggest win under Darryl Sutter. Mike Richards, Anze Kopitar scored back to back goals to take the lead...

The battle for the Northwest Division heats up tonight, as the Vancouver Canucks host the Minnesota Wild. The Canucks are in a bit of a mini slump after dropping their last two games to the Sharks and Kings, but still remain atop the division with 51 points....
(Ed. Note: The following was written by a Canucks fan.)
I'm consistently amazed by the lengths people will go to dismiss Henrik and Daniel Sedin.
In the last two years, both have won an Art Ross trophy and a league MVP, led the Vancouver Canucks to the Presidents' Trophy and taken them to a Stanley Cup Final. Now, for the third straight year, both are at the top of the...
While the overall performance of the Northwest Division-leading Vancouver Canucks hasn't left much to be desired, coach Alain Vigneault voiced displeasure with his team's recent efforts on the power play.
Those scuffles, though, pale in comparison to the Minnesota Wild's struggles of late.
Hoping to avoid a 10th defeat in 11 games overall, the Wild look to snap a nine...

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- The third time was the charm. It took a shootout goal by Michal Handzus to win it for the Sharks, but after dropping two tight, hard-fought contests to the Vancouver Canucks that ended 3-2 earlier this season, San Jose finally earned a victory by the same score Monday
