Tyler Bozak and the Toronto Maple Leafs can complain all they want about a faceoff that dropped out of sequence, ultimately leading to the Habs winning goal. But the fact is that David Desharnais bit on the fake drop as well, and he was prepared to win the faceoff despite the odd timing of the eventual drop. That, in a nutshell, was the difference between Montreal and Toronto last night.

With less than 30 games left on the schedule for the Toronto Maple Leafs, every win now is a must win.
After winning 4-2 to Philadelphia earlier this week, Toronto came out flat against the Montreal Canadiens and lost 5-2. In fact, head coach, Randy Carlyle said it best in the post game press conference. ”We were flat, flat, flat, and flat,” he said.
There was a incident...
The Toronto Maple Leafs must want fans to stop coming to their games because their choice to play the Harlem Shake as their goal song could be the worst decision ever.
Nazem Kadri notched his first career hat trick and Dion Phaneuf scored at 1:11 of overtime to give the Toronto Maple Leafs a 5-4 victory over the New York Islanders on Thursday night.
Phaneuf's fourth goal of the season lifted Toronto to its third straight win and fourth in five games at New York. The Maple Leafs have six wins in their last nine games against the Islanders....

Normally, Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Dion Phanuef doesn't turn down an invitation to fight an opponent but earlier tonight against the Montreal Canadiens, he did just that.
In the second period of play, Phanuef got tangled up with Montreal's Brandon Prust who seemed intent on starting a fight with him.
Dion rebuked the attempt and skated away from it:

The game was tied 1-1 and Brown hit the Habs defender from the side, sending him...
Per TSN 1050's Jonas Siegel, goaltender Jussi Rynnas is being sent back to the Toronto Marlies of the AHL. Injured goalie James Reimer will be activated and will likely backup Ben Scrivens tonight against the Montreal Canadiens.
With back to back games the next two nights, Reimer could return to the lineup tomorrow night against the New York Islanders in Uniondale.
The Maple Leafs 5-4 overtime victory over the New York Islanders Thursday night was clearly the Nazem Kadri show, as the young center put on a dazzling display, scoring his first NHL hat trick and vaulting into the top 20 in league scorers with 21 points, right next to names like Getzlaf, Malkin and Giroux.
The 22 year old Kadri showed remarkable poise and skill on all three...
