The Carolina Hurricanes played the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday night and one player stood out from all of the rest. Eric Staal had a night full of points and a career milestone. The 7-1 Hurricane victory over the Sens was thanks to Staal’s 11th career hat trick. His first goal of the game also gave him his 200th career goal. He also contributed two assists to the game giving him a total of five points. Chad LaRose who also added two goals and two assists. Tim Gleason had a goal and an assist and Tuomo Ruutu contributed a goal. Cam Ward, the goalie for Carolina, made 23 saves. After Gleason and LaRose scored, Staal took over.
