DALLAS (AP) -- Loui Eriksson's goal at 3:52 of overtime sent the Dallas Stars to their fourth consecutive victory, 3-2 over the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday. Steve Ott carried the puck deep in the Vancouver end and passed to Trevor Daley at the left circle. Eriksson skated to the net and fired Daley's goal-mouth pass by Roberto Luongo. Mike Ribeiro scored the tying goal for Dallas with 52.5 seconds left in regulation. With goalie Kari Lehtonen on the bench in favor of a sixth skater, Ribeiro deflected Alex Goligoski's shot from the point for his 14th of the season. Michael Ryder netted a power-play goal for the Stars, who hadn't won four in a row since Oct. 29 to Nov. 8.

Stars have many options with trade deadline

In the 12 days since I spent 1500 words talking about the Stars and their need to be sellers on this trade deadline day, a few things have happened. For instance, they lost their best player and leading scorer to a skate laceration and still await his return which could be less than a week away. They also lost a back-to-back set of games the following weekend against the Coyotes...

WHAT'S SO DARN FUNNY?

Video: Canucks coach loses it on bench

Check out the video. Even through the Vancouver Canucks lost to the Dallas Stars, Canucks coach Alain Vigneault couldn’t stop laughing during part of Sunday’s game. He was cracking up so badly that he had to cover his face with his lineup card. Apparently, Stars’ forward Vernon Fiddler did an impression of Kevin Bieksa’s angry face. Bieska plays for the Canucks.

Canucks vs. Dallas Stars blog: love ’em & hate ‘em

Best Picture? Not… In honour of the Sunday, we’re switching up the Love Em/Hate Em today to present the oscars and razzies this game so sorely deserves. If this game was an actual film, it would probably be The Artist. It was silent, starred a litany of people you had never heard of, and doesn’t Alain Vigneault look a little like John Goodman? So without further ado, let...

Final Dallas 4 - Minnesota 1 Three straight wins. A win on the second night of a back-to-back. Two points clear of ninth place in the playoff race and three points out of the third spot. Unless I'm terribly mistaken, the Stars are actually one of the hotter teams in the NHL right now. Dallas just took the game to the Minnesota Wild last night with an effort that finally looked...

Typically the Devils, or should I say... Uncle Lou, rarely gets action on trade deadline day. Many believe his deadline move happened on Friday with the acquisition of Zidlicky. As typical. A few names have popped up as Todd Cordell mentioned Steve Ott from the Stars. The Devils have a history with Dallas on the trade front and Steve Ott would be a perfect Devils - as John...
