In a feature on Tim Erixon over at CTWhale.com, the young defenseman says this about about wanting to play with the Rangers again..."It's not a secret that I want to get back to the Rangers, of course, but as long as I'm here, I'm going to try and help the team to win and try to develop," Erixon said. "I just have to keep learning and get more comfortable playing big minutes, and I'm really enjoying it."Here's Whale assistant coach J.J. Daigneault on Erixon..."From the get-go, I knew he was a good power-play specialist, but I kind of took my time with him as far as killing penalties. But the past few games, he has been getting part of the penalty kill, and he has responded really well. He's not extremely physical, but he gets things done with smarts. He closes the gap, angles players, has a good stick and is quick to recover loose pucks."Daigneault also likened Erixon's situation to Ryan McDonagh's last season....with the...

Having an outstanding beginning to his professional career, Carl Hagelin is becoming an offensive weapon for the CT Whale in the AHL. With Hagelin contributing in every way imaginable, the question of whether he breaks the Rangers roster this year deserves to be raised.
With 12 points (7 goals) in 16 games and an outstanding +10 already, Hagelin is thriving on the ice. He’s...

No one expected the Rangers to win-out the rest of the season. That’s just a silly thought. But during their seven-game winning streak, which was snapped when they put up a clunker against the Montreal Canadiens, the Rangers showed signs of regaining the form that has made them succeed in the past. When their streak [...]
You have to be slightly concerned. Not on the scale of the typical jump-off-the-bridge Ranger fan, no, but you should still be slightly worried about what unfolded tonight, coupled with the game against the Habs, and what has been going on for much of the season.
The troubling thing is NOT the lack of shots. I’ve never bought into that being a huge issue. It’s a little concerning...

The New York Rangers didn’t find the sense of urgency they
needed following their 4-0 loss Saturday and it cost them again as they fell
2-1 in Florida Wednesday night. The lack
of offense was obvious, but the Rangers are back to the utter lack of energy
and effort that was plaguing them to start the season as well. If that does not change quickly, then the
New York Rangers forward Andre Deveaux is likely to be
suspended for his elbow to the head of Tomas Fleischmann leaving the team in
need of another forward. The problem
with projecting either as the callup is the utter lack of knowledge as to what
Tortorella is looking for from the player he would bring in from the
Connecticut Whale. The bottom six has
