In an Insider only piece at ESPN, Corey Pronman listed his top 100 NHL prospects, and three Rangers made the list. The top prospect is Jonathan Drouin from Tampa Bay, and the rest of the prospects are behind the pay wall. Chris Kreider (41), Danny Kristo (54) and Pavel Buchnevich (69) made the list. Pronman also noted the organizational ranks in a separate Insider piece, with Colorado being the top team. The Rangers were ranked lower, but this is mostly because most of their prospects are in the NHL already.
Both pieces are worth the read if you have access.

In a series of tweets from Andrew Gross, coach Alain Vigneault started to shed some light on the future lines and defensive pairings heading into the season. The new coach has kept Chris Kreider on a line with Brad Richards and Rick Nash, which will probably be the top line when the season starts...
One of the more intriguing prospects in the Rangers system is Calle Andersson, an offensive defenseman currently playing in Sweden’s HockeyAllsvenskan (second tier league). The 19-year-old defenseman is good enough to play in the SHL (top tier Swedish league), but is better served getting the ice time needed for his development in HockeyAllsvenskan. That said, he was suffering...
Per Bob McKenzie, the biggest obstacle for the Rangers and locking up franchise goalie Henrik Lundqvist won’t be dollars, but it years:
Bob McKenzie: And that’s also the thorny issue there could be withHenrik Lundqvist and the New York Rangers. When Henrik Lundqvist‘s current deal expires and he’s on an extension, he’ll be 33-years-old on the first year of that extension...
from Eric Duhatschek of the Globe and Mail,
As much as the move was talked about, extensively rumoured, and considered a formality for about six months, Rick Nash didn’t know much about New York City, in all of its oddball glory, until he was actually traded there and started living in the Big Apple.
Laymen view it as part Woody Allen movie and part Lou Reed song. The...

Since the emergence of Henrik Lundqvist during the 2005-2006 season, many Ranger fans haven’t put much thought into the future between the pipes. Fast forward eight years later, Hank is still only 31 years-old and likely to sign a 7-8 year extension within the next 12 months. The stability The King provides has masked (no pun intended?) a rather glaring...
So rookie camp standout Nik Jensen is taking it on the chin in the early preseason.
Dominating at times in the Penticton Young Stars tournament Jensen has been unable thus far to stand out among the men.
He’s been more like dim background music so far this preseason.
He has been tentative and ineffective. He’s played 25:08 in two games and is still without a shot on net.
from Sarah Baicker of CSNPhilly,
Vinny Lecavalier was here once before, to watch his younger brother play.
That was certainly fun for Lecavalier and his family, but to actually take the ice at the Lake Placid Olympic Center was a far different experience -- much better than sitting in the crowd cheering on Clarkson University.
“It means a lot,” Lecavalier said. “I’m...
Jonathan Drouin scored the only goal in the shootout to lift the Tampa Bay Lightning over the Florida Panthers 5-4 in a preseason game Saturday night.
Steven Stamkos had a goal and two assists in regulation for the Lighting (4-0-0), putting them ahead 4-3 at the 7:35 mark of the third period before Bobby Butler tied it for the Panthers (2-2-1) with 58 seconds remaining - his second...
