There’s a real good chance that Alex Ovechkin is never going to come close to scoring 60 goals again in his career, and it’s not because his skill level has dropped…that doesn’t help. The Capitals’ captain hasn’t been happy in DC for a while now; he didn’t like it when Bruce Boudreau benched him at the end of a game so you know he wanted to murder someone when Dale Hunter only played him 13 minutes in a second-round playoff game. You could almost say he’s dying alive in Washington.
A discontent, declining Russian isn’t going to get any better any time soon and Ovi seems to have already accepted that because he came out and said that Geno Malkin is the best player in the world.
