According to the latest information coming directly from the Canadian soccer blog "It's Called Football!", it now appears that the owner of the NHL Ottawa Senators Eugene Melnyk is still intent on owning an MLS franchise. This information was released by Ben Rycroft, the news reporter in charge of the site. Rycroft claims he was informed through certain reliable sources that Melnyk is said to like the low risk-high return ownership structure of the league, the guarantee of money from SUM each year (SUM being the advertising wing of MLS and the one who handles all those massive money making friendlies like Real Madrid, Chelsea and Everton coming this summer) as well as the in it provides for building a stadium - long thought to be a major reason for interest in MLS.
