Forward Shawn Thornton has agreed to a two-year contract extension through 2013-14 with the Bruins. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Thornton, 34, signed with Boston as a free agent on July 1, 2007. He has played in 360 regular-season games with the Bruins, and has 25 goals, 37 assists and 601 penalty minutes. He has also played for the Blackhawks and Ducks. Thornton is a two-time Stanley Cup champion, having won with Anaheim in 2007 and Boston last season. He played in 18 of Boston's 25 postseason games last season. This year, Thornton has four goals and 12 points. The Bruins play host to Toronto in Boston on Monday.
