Fantasy Sports Locker Room takes a look at last night’s fantasy hockey news and notes from around the National Hockey League – Twitter style.
I don’t know much about million dollar investments but Mason Raymond looks like he is a good one so far for the Leafs.
— Shawn McKenzie (@ShawnMcKenzie89) October 6, 2013
One million dollar Leafs player watch: Mason Raymond is currently outscoring both Colby Armstrong and Darcy Tucker.
— Steve Dangle Glynn (@Steve_Dangle) October 6, 2013
Mason Raymond scored a goal and added two assists as the Leafs edged the Sens 5-4 in a shootout. Raymond, Nazem Kadri and Joffrey Lupul were all in on two powerplay goals. Raymond has four points in three games including the shootout winner, but should it have counted? You be the judge.
Bernier is on fire!
— Julie Stewart-Binks (@JSB_FOX) October 6, 2013
Jonathan Bernier came into last night’s game down 4-2 and continued his impressive start in Toronto. He has turned aside 46 of 47 so far this season. He has to have the edge in net over James Reimer
How good of a player is Kyle Turris turning into. Looking to be another steal for Bryan Murray. — MFischel (@MarkFischel) October 6, 2013
Kyle Turris was great for Ottawa picking up a goal and two assists.
Nine different #Canucks recorded at least one point while Daniel and Henrik Sedin combined for five. — Sportsnet Pacific (@SNETPacific) October 6, 2013
Henrik Sedin with another unreal no look pass to Daniel Sedin as the Canucks blew out the Oilers 6-2. Devan Dubnyk has allowed 10 goals in his first two games.
Lars Eller, by the way, does not like the term EGG line. He doesn’t like the nickname Larry either, yet all his teammates use it.
— Arpon Basu (@ArponBasu) October 6, 2013
EGG line or kid line – Lars Eller, Brendan Gallagher and Alex Galchenyuk combined for six points in a 4-1 Habs win over the Flyers. That line has five of Montreal’s seven goals on the year – Eller has three of them to go along with five points – he had 18 points in his last 14 games dating back to last year. He needs to be owned on all fantasy teams.
almost halfway thru the game and the lightning have 3 shots on net, none by st. louis or stamkos
— Judd Sirott (@Judd_Sirott) October 6, 2013
That didn’t last long. Steven Stamkos and Martin St. Louis had two points each in a 3-2 shootout win in Chicago. Ben Bishop made 37 saves stealing one at the Mad House.
That was 7 different goal scorers in that @StLouisBlues game by the way and none of them a D-man. Very balanced attack. — Brian Lawton (@brianlawton9) October 6, 2013
Berglund makes it 7-0. #stlblues now have 11 goals on the season and they’ve been scored 10 players. Steen only player with 2. — Jeremy Rutherford (@jprutherford) October 6, 2013
Jaroslav Halak records his 17th shutout as a Blues, breaking Glenn Hall‘s franchise record. #stlblues — Jeremy Rutherford (@jprutherford) October 6, 2013
Jaden Schwartz had three points for the Blues while Vladimir Tarasenko scored and dished out an assist. Jaroslav Halak wasn’t busy, but was much better than Tim Thomas
How’s Tim Thomas doing for my fantasy team… oh. Oh no. — James Mirtle (@mirtle) October 6, 2013
Thomas let in five goals and was chased out of the net early.
Alex Chiasson‘s projected career #NHL numbers: 994 games 993 goals 1 assist. Take that Brett Hull. #Stars
— Travis Currie (@travcurrie) October 6, 2013
Alex Chiasson: All he does is score.
— Brandon Worley (@brandonworley) October 6, 2013
Alex Chiasson now has 8 goals in his last 9 regular season games. #GoStars
— Dallas Stars (@DallasStars) October 6, 2013
Go grab Alex Chiasson if you can. He has eight goals in nine NHL games to start his career. Of course he won’t keep it up, but he’s talented enough to contribute to your fantasy team.
With two goals on the night, Zach Parise has his 30th multi-goal game in the #NHL, fifth with #mnwild.
— Minnesota Wild PR (@mnwildPR) October 6, 2013
Didn’t take long for fellow Michigan State alum @ToreyKrug to prove last season wasn’t a fluke.
— Hardy (@hardy985) October 6, 2013
A goal and an assist for rookie Torey Krug.
I got a feeling @jsilfverberg33 is going to score more goals than @b_ryan9 this season
— Andres (@a92704) October 6, 2013
Not likely, but Jakob Silfverberg has two goals to Bobby Ryan’s zero.
Alex Ovechkin’s goal assisted by Mike Green (4) and Marcus Johansson (4). Time of the goal 4:26 of the 1st. #CapsStars
— Washington Capitals (@washcaps) October 6, 2013
Alex Ovechkin continues to start the 2013-14 season on a mission – four goals already!
Go out and find viz of that Moulson goal from Tavares tonight. Pretty stuff
