TEAMS: New Jersey Devils, New York Rangers, Phoenix Coyotes, Los Angeles Kings
It is Monday already and time for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers. The Rangers are up two games to one after a 3-0 win on Saturday Afternoon that caused the blocked shot issue to ring true once again (20 blocked shots unofficially). There is this feeling that neither team can seem to put together two games in these playoffs, particularly the Rangers. New Jersey just has to do a better job playing defense than they did in Games 1 and 3. That is what gets lost in the shuffle here. It always seems to. There are some defininte changes if you are keeping score or at least trying to anyway.
With the anticipated line changes (yes Parise-Zajac-Kovalchuk may be broken up from time to time), it will be interesting to see what happens here. Game 3 honestly saw Zach Parise get manhandled yet again and at times it just looks like he is rattled by it. Petr Sykora is out and Jacob Josefson is in. Maybe the Devils n...

Fighting Sioux own the night in Devils win
NBCSN ice level announcer/personality Pierre McGuire couldn't seem to say it enough as he kept mentioning the two outstanding players from Grand Forks, ND. While Zach Parise (2002-04) and Travis Zajac (2004-06) are former Fighting Sioux Hockey players - they never played hockey together during their time at UND. Parise left UND in 2004 after playing two season for the Fighting...

Game 5 between the Phoenix Coyotes and the Los Angeles Kings was exciting and controversial. We're not here to talk about Dustin Brown's knee and whether or not it clean or dirty. Instead, we're here to analyze an incident involving Brown and Phoenix goaltender Mike Smith. As Smith was reaching to cover a puck with his glove, Brown used...
Philadelphia Flyers must clear cap space to make changes
The Flyers haven’t ruled defenseman Chris Pronger out for next season, but there little evidence to suggest he will return. Severe post-concussion syndrome threatens to end his NHL career.Should Pronger sit, Philadelphia would gain $5 million in salary cap space once the season begins. That possibility could inspire the Flyers to spend to the cap limit this summer while taking...

Talk is Cheap. Devils and Rangers Get Ready for Game 4
The Devils locker room will have a focused group inside prior to Game 4 tonight.
The dust has settled, the frustrations have gone, and voices are being heard again after Game 3’s mirror image result to Game 1. The New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers will battle in probably the most important game of the series yet despite plenty of hockey left to play.

Phoenix Coyotes let frustration damper the end to an outstanding season.
The Phoenix Coyotes were eliminated last night in game five of the Western Conference Finals by the Los Angeles Kings, bringing their season to a close. In a year where they won the first Pacific Division title in team history and made it to the conference finals for the first time in team history, negativity should not be the focus here. Unfortunately, the press during this round...
Return to road might be advantage for Kings
The Los Angeles Kings can't really explain their success on the road in these playoffs. They just hope it continues. The Kings blew an excellent chance to wrap up the Western Conference Finals on Sunday afternoon, as they lost 2-0 to Phoenix at Staples Center. The series now shifts to Phoenix, where the Coyotes should, theoretically, retain the advantage, but this hasn'...
