It was a slow first period at the Wells Fargo Center, something the Philadelphia Flyers were well used to this season. Neither Philadelphia nor their opponent for that evening, the Toronto Maple Leafs, could get anything generated offensively, leaving the fans somewhat restless. Naturally, head coach Peter Laviolette called upon his 4th line to get some energy flowing in the building.
Center Zac Rinaldo was more than willing to step up to the task.
After laying a hit on David Steckel against the boards, Rinaldo was hit with a swift crosscheck from the Leafs Mike Brown, taking him off his skates. As he went to get up, he was met with another crosscheck, placing him on his backside. So when Mike Brown asked “You wanna go Rinaldo?”, it seemed like an easy invitation for him to do what he did best. Instead, he flipped the script on the Leafs agitator.
