Suddenly the Calgary Flames’ most talented forward trio might be the hat-trick of guys on injured reserve. Right-winger David Jones suffered a suspected shoulder injury during Wednesday’s 3-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens and joins left-winger Michael Cammalleri (hand) and centre Matt Stajan (leg) in the infirmary. For those keeping score at home three of Calgary’s four highest-paid forwards are now on the injured list. “(Jones) has been a huge boost to our locker-room” said Flames winger Tim Jackman who has been a healthy scratch for four straight contests but will be in the lineup for Friday’s date with the New Jersey Devils at the Saddledome (7 p.m. Sportsnet West Sportsnet Fan 960). “You can tell he loves to work and you can see it in the games that he plays — he’s capable of doing everything. Penally-kill. Powerplay. Last minute of every period. He can do everything. Score big goals. Make nice plays. “He’s just been a huge addition to this team.” He’ll be a huge subtraction too. According to the Flames Jones is officially week-to week with an “upper-body” ailment. The 29-year-old winger was not available for comment Thursday. Jones who collected two goals and a pair of assists in his first four outings with the Flames after spending the past six campaigns in Colorado had been skating with Ben Street and Curtis Glencross on Calgary’s de facto first line. TJ Galiardi was working in that spot during Thursday’s skate at the Saddledome while winger Lance Bouma replaced Galiardi on the second unit bringing some grit to a grouping that also includes Mikael Backlund and Jiri Hudler. Lee Stempniak is still skating with rookies Sven Baertschi and Sean Monahan on the Flames’ third line while Jackman will make his season debut alongside Joe Colborne and enforcer Brian McGrattan.
