The Florida Panthers Fox Sports Florida announcers Steve Goldstein and Bill Lindsay appear to have finally lost their minds because of their brutal team. On Thursday night the Panthers were losing to the Winnipeg Jets 7-2 and the Panthers inched closer to playoff elimination, all while the Jets fans started to do the wave. Goldstein and Lindsay chose to mail it in for the last eight minutes and spent the last half of the third period discussing “Winnipeg Fun Facts.” These fun facts consisted of Slurpees, the origin story of Winnie the Pooh, and how much sun Winnipeg gets in the Winter, I’m not kidding. Perhaps the best exchange in the video was this:
“Will you buy me a Slurpee after the game?”
“I will buy you a Slurpee. They got better Slurpees. They know their ice here in Canada.”
Just further proof that being forced to watch a dreadful team can drive you towards insanity.

Florida Panthers defenseman Erik Gudbranson absolutely leveled Winnipeg Jets forward Bryan Little late in the 2nd period on Thursday night. Gudbranson delivered a huge forearm hit to the face of Little and Little went down in pain immediately. Gudbranson was ejected from the game and given a Match Penalty, which means the hit will be reviewed by the NHL automatically. The definition...
Can Pens finish road trip with third straight win Saturday in Florida?
A win Saturday night would give the Pittsburgh Penguins twice as many points as the Florida Panthers (64 to 32, respectively).
Not surprisingly, three of the four defensemen with the worst plus-minus ratings are under the employ of Florida: Filip Kuba (- 16), Brian Campbell (- 19), and Erik Gudbranson (- 21).
Boring. Really boring game. But I suppose that was to be expected. There is literally nothing that is good about the Florida Panthers. They are the worst team in the east and arguably the worst team in the league. Combine that with a Pens team that played without their three best players and it equals…

Before the start of the game, Evgeni Malkin was scratched with an upper body injury. The injury may have been sustained two nights before when Malkin took a huge hit into the boards. With the Penguins forced to play Florida without three of their top skill players, they turned to gritty forwards and punishing defense to grind out a 3-1 win, Saturday night.Pittsburgh outhit Florida...
Follow me on twitter @IanEsplen to chat hockey, sports and life in general anytime The other day, Ek made a case for Jonathan Huberdeau as the leading candidate to take home the Calder in a few months. While Huberdeau is very likely the guy to beat for the award, I couldnât help but notice two players missing from his list. Jonas Brodin No one seems to really talk much about Brod...
The Pittsburgh Penguins are good. The Florida Panthers are bad. I could end this preview now and it would probably be sufficient to describe what is going to happen tonight. The brilliant folks who write the schedule for the NHL should probably stop giving Florida home games by about mid-season at this point. There will…
