TommywantwingyPreviously, on Fly-boys:  0 wins so far in the pre-season, 20 penalties in last game against Toronto, 3rd period meltdown culminating in 5-4 O.T. loss.  It has been pretty dern ugly so far, but nothing we haven't seen before.  The names on the jerseys change with each passing year... but the end results have not.  That being said, one of the Flyers most common themes, "guess who's injured" has not been much of a concern.  The biggest physical question mark has been Simon Gagne, who expects to skate tonight and for the rest of the pre-season tilts.  What else is new?  Briere is healthy and coming off a two goal game.  Junior Varsity (JVR) has a legitimate shot at cracking the top 9 forward roster spots.  Emery has "sounded" solid (this is the first actual televised game I'll be able to watch) and will go the distance between those red irony thingies.  Pronger/Carle has reportedly looked solid which leads to a reuniting of Timonen/Coburn, a sometimes dominant top pairing in past seasons that will get a solid "number-two" amount of work.  Further surprises come in cinderella try-out Betts, who has been a PK machine.  If he makes the team that could take significant "one-man-down" weight off Captain Mike Richards' surgically repaired shoulders.  The Flyers look to avenge their 3-1 loss to the Wings from pre-season game numero uno while introducing the home crowd to all those new faces.  I hate re-runs... just sayin'.
