Wayne Simmonds And Brayden Schenn Weigh In On Claude Giroux

In a recent story in TheGlobeAndMail.com about Giroux's journey to the NHL, some of his teammates weighed in. “The one thing that sets him out from a lot of players,” winger Wayne Simmonds said, “is he’s got a huge heart. He just battles for every little bit possible.” “It’s pretty cool to hear his story,” added rookie Brayden Schenn, who lives with Giroux at...

Will The Flyers Get Their Defensive Help?

from Craig Custance of ESPN, Philadelphia has managed to remain near the top of the Eastern Conference for most of the season despite missing its captain for the season with a concussion. But this is the time of the season he is missed, and it’s only going to get worse in the postseason. Assuming Philadelphia makes it. “A playoff run, a stretch run to make the playoffs—right...

Paul Holmgren Speaks On Making Moves

“You weigh what the cost is,” Holmgren said. “I don’t have any trouble making a deal now that makes sense now or and for the future. “These rental deals, you just got to weigh the cost and make the call. Right now, none of those are coming to fruition for anyone, I don’t think.   Via Tim Panaccio, CSN Philly.

Peter Laviolette Commented On His Relationship With Bryz

“I have a good relationship with Bryz,” said Laviolette, whose team has lost five of its last six games. “We continue to work on that. That should not be construed in a negative way. But we continue to work on it. He’s a new player. I’m a new coach. Like a lot of the guys in here, it takes time to develop those relationships. My relationship with Bryz is good.” ...

The anatomy of a Wayne Simmonds goal

Of course, every once in awhile, a goalie really messes...

Bill Meltzer: Meltzer's Musings: 2/13/12 PLUS win Flyers-Penguins tickets (2/18 game)

Heading into last night's game in Detroit, everything was set up for Philly to lose the game and become the Red Wings' 20th consecutive victim on home ice. That is, in fact, what happened but the way that the Flyers lost the game was galling. Even when the Flyers grabbed a pair of one-goal leads -- courtesy of a two-goal outburst from Brayden Schenn and a Max Talbot goal...
