from Chuck Gormley of the Courier Post,
It’s difficult to judge which is more fascinating: the fact that Flyers coach Peter Laviolette has started and pulled three different goalies in the first six games of the playoffs or, in spite of that, the Flyers are in a position to win the first-round series with a win tonight at the Wells Fargo Center.
“We just roll with it,” Flyers captain Mike Richards said. “It’s the cards that we’re dealt. It’s obviously not the ideal situation that we have going here. It’s a situation, unfortunately, we’ve gone through before. It is what it is, and you keep playing hockey.”
Despite the fact the Flyers have used 17 goalies over the past 14 years, they never had started three in the same playoff series until now. In fact, the last time it happened in the NHL was in 2004, when the Vancouver Canucks were forced to start Dan Cloutier, Johan Hedberg and Alex Auld after Cloutier suffered a leg injury.
The Canucks lost that series in seven games.
