Kuklas Korner:
from David Pollak of Working the Corners at the Mercury News,
I can provide a little insight into why Flyers fans can get worked up into a frenzy at times: A videoboard operator who must be under orders to replay every perceived missed call that goes against the home team. Then replay it again. And again. And again.
In the second period, cameras caught what appeared to be a high-stick by Benn Ferriero on Flyer center Daniel Briere stationed in the Sharks crease. No call was made and at the next stoppage, that’s all the video board kept showing.
The crowd responded as you might expect, but don’t think the point wasn’t lost on the officials either. The Sharks (and most teams), of course, don’t do anything that would embarrass the officials. But, boy, it sure seemed to get the paying customers going. Hint, hint.
read on for some Sharks talk…
