As was the case over the course of the regular season, the Philadelphia Flyers have continued to exhibit perhaps the most balanced offensive arsenal in the entire NHL thus far during the postseason.Through their first seven playoff contests, Philadelphia leads all teams in goals scored with 34.Just one of three clubs (the others being the Nashville Predators and Detroit Red Wings) to employ 11 players to reach double-digit totals in goals scored during the season, the Flyers already have eight players who have tallied at least more than one goal through the first game of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. While boasting the League-leader in postseason points in Claude Giroux -- who finished third-overall behind Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Steven Stamkos of the Tampa Bay Lightning, and leads all playoff scorers with 15 points and is tied with teammate Danny Briere for the lead with seven goals -- Giroux and Briere certainly are not the only ones in a groove at crunch ...

The NHL Shows No Love for the Flyers
The Philadelphia Flyers despite an amazing off-season remake of their team, a rookie leading goal scorer, a celebrity coach, a budding superstar and a surefire Hall of Famer elder statesman of the game were shut out of every single major NHL award this season.
When Paul Holmgren was shut out of the Executive of the Year award in the NHL, I thought it was an oversight. I understood...
Stanley Cup Playoffs: Round 2 Prediction: New Jersey Devils vs. Philadelphia Flyers
Welcome to Center Ice Chat’s Stanley Cup Playoffs Preview and Predictions series. With Round 1 in the books as of Thursday night, we take a look at the crop of the few, the proud, the Conference semifinalists.
So the Philadelphia Flyers may be the hottest team going into Round 2, arguably.
James van Riemsdyk of the Philadelphia Flyers skates away after scoring a...
Bryz Has To Be Better
from Bob McKenzie of TSN, I suppose it’s possible that the Philadelphia Flyers could go all the way and win the Stanley Cup with Ilya Bryzgalov’s somewhat shaky goaltending, but it’s not something I would count on.
On Sunday, he wasn’t very good. While he allowed only one goal on 15 shots in the first period of the Flyers 4-3 overtime win, he wasn’t nearly as good in...
Holmgren Deserves Credit For The Flyers Makeover
from Scott Burnside of ESPN, Holmgren did not get a nod for the newly created GM of the Year Award, but he should have. In fact, it’s mind boggling that he did not, given the moves he has made and the bright future he has charted for the Philadelphia Flyers. Not that he has given it a moment’s thought. Holmgren is, instead, focused on the pursuit of the trophy that has eluded...
Devils Beat Flyers 4-1, Even Series at One
Well Philly fans, the puck is in your rink, what needs to be done for the Flyers to rebound from this game?
The Flyers looked great at the start of the game, then they could not generate any offense at all.
2 shots in the 2nd period and 9 in the 3rd for a total of 20 for the game just won’t cut it.
New Jersey fans, I am sure you are satisfied with the way the game played-out tonight.
Flyers Fail to Show Up, Devils Tie Series Up
The Philadelphia Flyers played a solid first period on Tuesday night, and then, quite simply, got their asses handed to them the rest of the way. The New Jersey Devils went on to defeat the listless Flyers by a final score of 4-1, evening up their semifinal conference series.
The Flyers came out and played well early in the first period and jumped out to an early lead in front of...
Open Post- Only Game In Town Tonight, New Jersey Takes On Philadelphia
Game starts just after 7:30pm ET with Philly up 1-0 in the series.
The Devils will not have Kovalchuk in the lineup tonight due to an injury but he has not been 100% since the 3rd or 4th game of the opening round.
The Flyers look like an offensive machine right now but their defense and goaltending will still be questioned.
Are You Satisfied With The Length Of The OT Games?
from Frank Seravalli of Frequent Flyers, If you feel like overtime games have been ending quickly, you’re not alone.
Through the first 53 games of this Stanley Cup playoff season, 18 have gone to overtime (33.9 percent).
The overtime in 8 out of those 18 games (44 percent) hasn’t even made it past the three-minute mark. Fans barely have enough time to grab a beer during the...
New Jersey Devils Blast Past Philadelphia Flyers to Even Series (Video)
PHILADELPHIA -- Adam Larsson watched Game 1 from the press box, dressed sharply in a suit and tie. From the rafters, he sat helplessly as he watched his New Jersey Devils lose a tough road opener in this Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Flyers in overtime. In Game 2, though, he received his chance to shed the suit and don a uniform. And the 19-year-old rookie took...
Rookie making playoff debut scores key goal in Devils' victory
PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia Flyers goalie Ilya Bryzgalov made one big save after another until a rookie playing his first playoff game put one in. That got the New Jersey Devils going. David Clarkson followed by scoring the tiebreaking goal with 8:43 left and the Devils rallied to beat the Flyers 4-1 in Game 2 Tuesday night, evening their Eastern Conference semifinals series...
Negative Jam: Devils Drop Flyers 4-1 in Game 2
So far against the New Jersey Devils, the Flyers have put together a solid 60 minutes of hockey. The problem is, they're two games into this second round playoff series.
The Flyers came out with some serious jam in the first period on Tuesday night, putting 9 shots on goal, crashing the net and generally making life miserable for Martin Brodeur, who looked for most of the period...

The Flyers, despite another slow start in the 1st period on Sunday afternoon, were able to defeat the NJ Devils in overtime of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, 4-3.
