Philadelphia Flyers left wing Scott Hartnell has been added to the NHL All-Star Game roster on Tuesday, replacing injured Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews.
Hartnell is coming off a natural hat trick to increase his team lead in goals to 25 this season. The 29-year-old Saskatchewan native, who will be making his first appearance in an All-Star Game, has also collected 19 assists and is a plus-18 this season.
Toews was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday with an ailing left wrist.
The team recalled forward Brandon Pirri from Rockford of the American Hockey League to replace Toews, who has recorded 27 goals and 23 assists this season.
