The Philadelphia Flyers have decided to keep 2011 first-round pick Sean Couturier on the roster instead of assigning him to his junior team. Couturier will appear in his 10th game of the season Thursday night against the Winnipeg Jets, one game over the maximum allowed before the team must pay the youngster’s full NHL salary for the season. The 18-year-old center has two goals and a pair of assists while leading his team with a plus-4 rating. Flyers coach Peter Laviolette said he has been pleased with Couturier’s play, particularly his defense.
