After an early playoff elimination last season, the Broad Street Bullies are back and better than last year. Starting the 2011-2012 season hot with a 2-0 record, the Flyers have begun their quest for the main goal, the Stanley Cup. The Flyers have a brand new team this year. Unforseen by all, the Flyers went on a signing spree over eight days this offseason, making blockbuster trades and signing six free agents. Along with veteran additions Ilya Bryzgolav, Jaromir Jagr and Andreas Lilja, the Flyers have recruited younger--but still skilled--position players. Wayne Simmonds and Brayden Schenn, who were brought over from Los Angeles for former captain Mike Richards, are just some of the new additions that the Flyers have enhanced their team with. There is also a new captain in town.
