The day we've all been waiting for (well since this past Sunday) is finally here.

Tonight, the Flyers will face the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.  The Flyers have built a commanding 3-0  series lead on discipline, composure, and, a high scoring offensive attack.

But as every player says... the fourth win is the hardest to get.

Sunday's nationally broadcasted game sure had it's share of fights, although I certainly couldn't have used the term "fair share". The Penguins showed their true colors as they classlessly started the rough stuff, cheap shots, and immature antics on Sunday.

They cross checked, blind sided, sucker punched, and pulled hair on their way to an 8-4 Game 3 loss and a complete embarrassment of their city and beloved franchise. I guess that's "the price of greatness" though.

All of these years when Flyers fans would chant "Crosby Sucks", it wasn't because he lacked talent, but because of the way he played the game. Or Chris Therien would like to say "a joke". On Sunday the entire hockey world got to witness it and finally see why we in Philadelphia have always hated the Penguins.

So far, this series has had everything we could have asked for. The most important thing the Flyers need to focus on, however, is that it's not over yet.  Here are some things to look for in Game 4:

  • Home Ice Advantage- I attended Game 3 on Sunday and I will go on record as saying that it was the loudest Flyers game that building has ever seen.  With the Pens facing elimination, plus all of this suspension news and Sidney Crosby not liking us, there is no way Wells Fargo Center isn't even louder and more hostile tonight.
  • Penguins Final Push- Hockey players say that the hardest vistory in a series is the fourth one.  The Pens will throw their best at the Flyers tonight. They will have to do so without James Neal, Aaron Asham, and Craig Adams in the lineup.
  • Ilya Bryzgalov- Say what you want about Bryz, but he is outplaying Marc-Andre Fleury in this series.  Tonight, I think Bryz steals the show.
  • Scott Hartnell- Today is his birthday, but besides that, the Flyers' leading goal scorer has yet to hit the back of the net in this series.  Hartsy was stoned a couple times in the first few games, but thrives when the game becomes physical.
  • Rough Stuff- I shouldn't have to say this, but these teams HATE each other. Look for the game to be called much closer. Especially after what happened last night in Chicago.

The Flyers have to keep their cool and continue to play their game.  If they're able to maintain the demeanor we've seen in the first 3 games of this series, the Flyers should be able to put an end to the Penguins' season tonight.

Philadelphia has to hit them where it hurts the most; the scoreboard.
