Embarrasing.

This one should be interesting for HBO 24/7.

The Flyers came into this game without Giroux or Pronger playing very well as of late. Today, we saw a team that looked lost and played with no sense of urgency.

Bryzgalov was pulled after letting up some soft goals, so let the controversy discussions continue.

The Flyers also lost another player to injury - Sean Couterier. He was hit in the head by a slap shot, and left the ice.

Here are some quotes from Peter Laviolette after the loss.

Q: Some of your players said the most frustrating part of the game was what seemed to be your inability to respond; do you agree?

A: “Yes.”

Q: Do you ever stop and say I can’t believe all of this is happening to us, especially with the head injuries?

A: “Yeah I think sometimes things are cyclical.  When your power play is bad it seems to be bad for 4 games, whatever it might be.  Certainly that is a good question and you have to ask yourself are we in a bad stretch here?  Some tough breaks that are happening where guys are getting banged in the head.  It’s a good question, I think there was a lot of redirect goals early on, there was 15 redirect goals in 5 games, where there’s not much you can do, but the puck’s in the back of the net.  So I think things happen at times and they go cyclical, and you have to fight through it.  Again it’s tough to miss those guys or see an injury like that tonight, but you have to plow through it.”

Video highlights and a clip of the injury to Sean Couturier are after the jump.
