The Philadelphia Flyers promoted former first-round center Brayden Schenn from Adirondack of the American Hockey League on Wednesday.
Schenn was acquired in an offseason deal with forward Wayne Simmonds which sent former captain Mike Richards to the Los Angeles Kings. Schenn will likely make his NHL debut on Thursday against the Washington Capitals.
The younger brother of Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Luke Schenn, the 20-year-old was the fifth overall pick of the 2009 draft.
Philadelphia demoted forwards Harry Zolnierczyk and Zac Rinaldo to Adirondack.
