(via Philadelphia Flyers) With just three games left in the season, the Philadelphia Flyers are eliminated from playoff contention. The Adirondack Phantoms season is officially over, so the big club made some call ups. The Flyers have recalled forwards Scott Laughton, Jason Akeson, and Tye McGinn, as well as defenseman Matt Konan. With nothing to play for, why not bring the kids up? Scott Laughton will most likely not play in the remaining three games, as putting him in the lineup will will disrupt his entry level contract. If Laughton plays, his entry contract will officially begin, which will bring him on year closer to free agency, as he would play his 6th game. For the Flyers, the real interesting call up is 22 year old Jason Akeson. As one of the Phantoms top forwards, Akeson led the team with 53 points. He also led the Phantoms in goals, and was just one assists shy of being tied for the team lead in assists. Akeson's line of 20 goals, 33 assists (Danny Syvret led with 34) for 53 points came in just 62 games. The Flyers will be taking some hard looks at these call ups, and even if the players do not get in the lineup, they will practice with the team.
