The Philadelphia Flyers have had three players head overseas due to the ongoing lockout: Ruslan Fedotenko, Ilya Bryzgalov, and Jakub Voracek. The newest member to this list is Wayne Simmonds.
Simmonds, 24, has officially signed a contract to join ETC Crimmitschau, a member of Germany's second-tier ice hockey league also known as the 2nd Eishockey-Bundesliga.
Joining him in Germany will be Chris Stewart, a member of the St. Louis Blues and a long-time best friend of Simmonds'.
On August 15 of this off-season, after coming off of a career year of 49 points, Simmonds signed a six-year contract extension with the Flyers that has an AAV of just under $4 million.
Reportedly, Wayne Simmonds will be on a plane heading to Germany some time tomorrow.

As first reported by Truehockey.com and later confirmed on the official site of Eispiraten Crimmitschau, Flyers winger Wayne Simmonds and Blues winger Chris Stewart have signed with the 2. Bundesliga (minor league) team in Germany. The two players were in route to Germany last night.

The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that their American Hockey League affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms, will open their 2012 training camp at The Virtua Center Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ on Saturday, September 29.

Jakub Voracek scored a goal in a losing cause yesterday as HC Lev Prague dropped a 4-2 decision to Barys Astana in KHL action. Voracek, who skated 16:56 of ice time and generated three shots on goal, briefly tied the game at 2-2 in the second period. He has two points (1G, 1A) in two games to date.
