Tonight we live blog the game that ended so much frustration. Whether you want to pretend this is actually 1997 all over again or you just want to relive the game is up to you.

Puck drops at 8:00 EST. Then at 9:20 EST, head over to twitter to thank McCarty for being awesome. He's not following social media at this time because of the issues he's dealing with, though, so don't expect a response.

About this time 15 years ago, I was bagging groceries at Family Fare and watching the clock, wishing I had called in sick. The store was packed and everyone was buying the same thing: Beer, chips and dip. I asked every person who was buying beer if it was for the game tonight. All but one person said yes. The state of Michigan was hooked. I missed the first 2 periods because of work, but my friend and I listened to Ken Kal during our breaks, so I had score updates. When the shift ended and I drove home, Dale Earnhardt wouldn't have been able to keep up with me. I got home just in time for the third period. What a night.
