If there was a contest for sweetest goalie pads in the NHL, Winnipeg backup netminder Chris Mason would win hands down with these newly minted badboys featuring the Jets logo.  These just may be the coolest goaltender pads and gloves in NHL history, even if it is the new, albeit inferior Jets logo adorning them. The one-of-a-kind SubZero pads were designed by BStar, a company specializing in custom goaltender equipment, and I highly recommend heading to their site and checking out the custom boutique gallery.  It will give you a new appreciation of just how awesome custom goalie pads can be with some skill and creative genius at your disposal.

Said Mason of his new equipment (via In Goal Magazine)…

“I am speechless, those are the sickest pads I have seen in the NHL this year,” Mason replied to the staff at Brian’s when he got a look at the first pictures. “I cannot wait to wear them! We opened up the picture in the locker room, the boys went crazy.”

Sick is the right word.  Now we just have to wait for league approval, which should be coming forthwith, and for Mason to see some game action, so that we can truly appreciate these padded works of art.
