Both NHL.com and Puck Daddy project that Henrik Lundqvist, Dan Girardi, Marian Gaborik and Carl Hagelin (rookie game) will represent the Rangers during All Star weekend. Here's Greg Wyshynski of Puck Daddy on the Girardi projection..."There are some obvious choices here, but to explain the less obvious ones: Girardi is the epitome of the merit-based choice for an All-Star Game. An unsung hero for the Rangers, one of the best teams in the NHL, and a guy who deserves the rub. Plus, maybe his toddler will enter the hardest shot competition."While the Ottawa Senators starters have already been voted in, the remaining rosters will be released tomorrow....what? No Avery?...while these are just projections it's pretty awesome to see Girardi get some love. If nothing else maybe our "Vote for Girardi" campaign at least brought attention on the Rangers star defenseman....h/t to @Landewebshow and Chris R.Remember to follow me on Twitter & Facebook or e-mail me at...

Halfway There Report Card: The Top Six Forwards

When you’re a team sitting at the top of the NHL standings there’s usually not much to moan about. The Rangers have been blessed with production and top quality performances from all over the roster including the top six. A team cannot win consistently if it doesn’t get production from its key guys and the Rangers have been getting it. To the grades… Marian Gaborik. In December...

Tortorella, Girardi pre-game

Here’s the audio from John Tortorella’s press conference, and a group interview with Dan Girardi (pretty funny) about being named to the all-star team. Tortorella also said that Brandon Dubinsky (shoulder) will not play, and that Wojtek Wolski will go into the lineup in his place. John Tortorella: Dan Girardi:

Coyotes' offensive options limited

As the Coyotes threw shot after shot at New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist to no avail in Tuesdays 2-1 shootout loss at Madison Square Garden, you couldnt help thinking: Gosh, if they only had a little more offense. Yeah. Don Maloney gets that a lot. Earlier in the season, the Coyotes general manger surprised some people by suggesting his first personnel move might be to...

It’s A Virtue – Coyotes @ Rangers Post Game Thoughts…

I was getting ready to write an article about how, sometimes, you play a really great game and lose. The Rangers have certainly been on the reverse end of that scenario many, many times during Henrik Lundqvists reign as king of NY. But, turns out I need not do that. Instead, the Rangers showed patience (get it, it’s a virtue…get it? I’m here all night folks) and poise...
