Good news everyone! Ryan Wilson is off IR and he is ready to come back to the lineup.
He probably will not start in tonight's game against the Blackhawks but he will get back into the lineup sometime relatively soon.
This brings up a rather peculiar question, one which the Avalanche just dealt with not but two weeks ago. The Avs are doing well, in fact they are doing better...

Avalanche center Paul Stastny and wingers David Jones and TJ Galiardi have something to prove. At the very least, they want to complement the Ryan O'Reilly-centered line, Colorado's most productive in all three zones.

When coming home after an emotionally and physically draining game and having a game the next night, there are probably other opponents you'd pick than to play the 4x400 relay team that is the Colorado Avalanche. But you don't get to pick your schedule, and that's what the Hawks will face Friday night.
The timing the Hawks have had facing the Avs this year has been terrible...

CHICAGO – Sixteen years covering this team, and even in the glory years can I rarely recall a game where the Avs kept the opposition crowd as quiet as this one tonight. Quite a feat too, considering 21,807 crammed into the United Center.
The Avs simply gave Chicago Blackhawks fans nothing to cheer about tonight. Not one thing.

On a night that couldn't have been much worse on the ice, the Avalanche also got a bad result from the medical room. Defenseman Erik Johnson suffered a hand injury in the first period and didn't return.
