It hasn’t been a good week for the local news people. Earlier this week, some poor lady thought game four in the Heat-Celtics series ended in a tie. Another Los Angeles news woman had an issue reporting on the Los Angeles Kings 4-0 win against the New Jersey Devils in game three of the Stanley Cup Finals. A Los Angeles news anchor, let me repeat…a Los Angeles news anchor called Los Angeles Kings goalie Jonathan Quick “Jonathan Swift” instead.

If she’s in Buffalo or Hartford or Timbuktu, I’d let her slide. But she’s in Los Angeles. Jonathan Quick has been the best goalie in the NHL for the better part of a couple months and has been the sole reason for the Kings’ dominance. I hear that Kings’ merchandise is flying off the shelves in L.A. and the lowest ticket price for game four is over $1,200. But Jonathan Swift? Fox 11′s Christine Devine deserves a “quick” kick in the pants.
