Found April 24, 2012 on Razzball Hockey:
In his third NHL game, the New York Ranger’s Chris Kreider scored on Ottawa’s Craig Anderson, which is impressive for a number of reasons. One, Kreider broke into the NHL in perhaps the fiercest first round playoff match this season. Two, the 31 year old Anderson has been playing like a vintage Marty Brodeur, at one point stopping 75 consecutive shots over 145:27. These were not the Rangers taking crappy shots, either. They were placing the puck well, but Anderson was like a magnet. Anderson was serviceable this year with 33 wins, a 2.79 GAA, and a .913 SV%. DC ranked him 26th for goalies, and he finished ranked 32nd by Yahoo!’s metric, whatever that is. This postseason, however, he has stopped 167 of 179 shots for a .933 SV%, which would have ranked him third for the season for goalies with more than 20 starts. He has really elevated himself to an elite status in April, but I wouldn’t buy high on him next season. His stats this year fall in line with his career norms, and at best h...

Emergence of Derek Stepan Could Be Key for Rangers

Prior to Monday's Game 6 in Ottawa, Rangers forward Derek Stepan had zero points in five playoff games this season. His decision making was off, he struggled when passing the puck and he had very little confidence to shoot, especially on the powerplay. Quickly he saw a decrease in ice time from head coach John Tortorella, which is obviously going to be the consequence when you...

Kreider Not Easily Fazed

During his conference call yesterday, John Tortorella gave this comment on his impressions of Chris Kreider's performance up until this point (via Bergen Record)..."The thing that impressed me the most about him right now in just a couple of days being with him is forget what's on the ice, it's how he's handled the situation. I'm sure there's a letdown...

Bourque Takes it to a New Level

By Bob Crawford That the Connecticut Whale swept division-champion Bridgeport, a team that had played better than .700 hockey since the turn of the New Year, was surprising enough.  That they did it without their regular-season scoring leader, Kris Newbury, registering a point, and with second-leading scorer Jonathan Audy-Marchessault being held to one goal, borders on amazing...

Morning Skate Notes: No Boyle or Eminger; Zucc Update; Another Sens Debut

We don't want this season to end. If we play...

Video- Lundqvist’s Remarks Post-Game

Henrik Lundqvist was upset with the controversial late goal by the Senators last night and spoke about it post-game. I don’t know about you, but my feelings are the Rangers won the game, brush the goal off and move on. Instead, Lundqvist went in the opposite direction.

Believe

It's the slogan the New York Rangers have used throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs. It's on the t-shirts, it's on Twitter, it's plastered on the walls of Madison Square Garden and it's printed on the rally towels.  "Believe" One word with such a vast meaning. One word that contains an unlimited amount of power. But one word that defines the 2011...

Senators’ Chris Neil Encourages Crowd While Fighting Rangers’ Brandon Prust

About fifteen minutes into Game 6 between the New York Rangers and the Ottawa Senators, it became more of a WWE match than a hockey game. Somehow, in the middle of his tussle with Rangers’ forward Brandon Prust, Chris Neil of the Senators signals the crowd to “get loud” while still trying to fight Prust. Check it out:

New Wrinkle Added to the Senators vs Rangers Rivalry

For their next installment in their popular gaming franchise, EA Sports has opted to let fans ultimately decide which NHL player they want to adorn the cover of NHL 13. By creating a 60-player tournament bracket in which every organization was represented by two players, EA Sports has encouraged fans to get out and vote for their favorite player(s). I'm assuming that EA created...
