Marian Gaborik scored at the 14:41 mark of 3OT giving the Rangers a 2-1 win over the Washington Capitals. The Rangers lead the series 2-1 and took the home ice advantage away from the Caps. Both teams had numerous chances to win the game in OT, but a lot of clanks were heard throughout the arena. Dennis Wideman lead the Caps in TOI with 40:42 and for the Rangers it was Ryan Mcdonagh with a whopping 53:17.

Marian Gaborik Taking Too Much Blame

For all of the experts out there who will only read that title and possibly the first line of this article if your attention span is willing, I am fully aware that Marian Gaborik, the team's leading scorer in the regular season, must be better in the playoffs. So, before you go into the comments section of this post and tell me that I know nothing of the sport I've watched...

Tough losses happen, and it isn’t anyone’s fault, including Gaborik’s

The amount of hatred throw at Marian Gaborik for the Rangers loss last night, or for any loss in general, is frighteningly disturbing. I understand the need to have a scapegoat for a loss, but picking on someone who had an assist in the game and was nowhere near invisible is just irrational. The guy isn’t Wojtek Wolski. He’s not Erik Christensen. He’s not invisible out there...

Gaborik goal wins Game 3 for Rangers

Marian Gaborik scored at 14:41 of the third overtime, and the New York Rangers outlasted the Washington Capitals in a 2-1 victory early Thursday morning to take a 2-1 lead in their Eastern Conference semifinal series. Brad Richards was near the backboards before sending a pass in front to Gaborik, who ended the marathon by sliding the puck between the pads of rookie goaltender Braden...

Will to win fuels Gaborik, Rangers

Like the game, New York Rangers forward Marian Gaborik's playoff scoring slump extended to one, two then three overtimes. Then came a quick pass from behind the net by Mike Richards and a one-timer past Washington Capitals goalie Braden Holtby as Gaborik ended both his eight-game goal-less streak and the longest game since 2008. "It's about will," Gaborik said...

Gaborik Comes Through in Triple OT

There was no doubt that going into last night’s Game 3 between the New York Rangers and Washington Capitals at the Verizon Center, Blueshirts’ 41-goal scorer Marian Gaborik was having trouble putting the puck in the net. Well, that changed last night and did so in very dramatic fashion. Gaborik scored a goal in the third overtime off a nice feed from Brad Richards to give his...

Gaborik Joins OT Heroes

from Mike Vaccaro of the NY Post, Hockey fans don’t need much in the way of reference points; surnames will do just fine. There isn’t a Rangers fan who was alive on the evening of May 27, 1994, who needs anything other than the word “Matteau” to summon time, place, who they were with, what they were drinking, what they were screaming. Go back a few years. If you’re old...

Fantasy Hockey Playoff ONE (5/3)

So Marian Gaborik ended one very long game between the New York Rangers and the Washington Capitals.  That is the beauty of overtime in the playoffs because one second it looks likt it will never and the next, the game ends.  Gaborik was pretty much even a bit of a fantasy playoff goat with only one goal after nine games.  All seems forgiven as all it took...

Chris Kreider Is Really Something Special

On a team with proven All-Star performers like Henrik Lundqvist, Marian Gaborik, Brad Richards, Dan Girardi and Marc Staal along with a well-respected captain and U.S. Olympian in Ryan Callahan, it’s surprising to think that no other Ranger may be more popular among the masses of Rangers fans right now than freshly minted rookie Chris [...]

Pregame: Key Rangers Must Step Up in Game 3

The Rangers know what to expect tonight. Heading into the away arena tied, 1-1, after a disappointing loss on home ice in Game 2 is familiar territory for the Blueshirts, who were in the exact same situation a couple weeks ago in their series against the Ottawa Senators. The Capitals, after grabbing their first win in the series, have the momentum returning home to the Verizon Center...
