Going back through the years they’ve signed the following players to ridiculously large contracts: Wayne Gretzky (at the tail end of his career), Jaromir Jagr (actually a trade, but still a big name), Scott Gomez, Chris Drury and Marcus Naslund. None of these signings lived up to the hype.So what do they do now? They back up the Brinks truck to Marian Gaborik and sign him to a long-term, expensive contract. Yes, the same Marian Gaborik whose groin was injured last season while playing hacky sack.Does Marian have tons of talent? Of course he does, but he can’t stay healthy.
