He bested his teammate, scored a hat-trick, won the game, and MVP. Marian Gaborik couldn't have had a better night. Gaborik's three goals and one assist led Team Chara to a 12-9 win over Team Alfredsson. Gaborik's first of the game was scored on teammate Henrik Lundqvist on a beautiful passing play with Pavel Datsyuk. Gaborik took full advantage of the opportunity to rub it in and taunted Lundqvist with his own version of Artem Anisimov's sniper celebration.

"I was thinking about it before the game that if I scored on Henrik I wouldn't do it any other way, but I wanted to do it against Henrik," Gaborik said after the game. "I don't think he was too happy about that."

"I'm happy for him, but I'm not happy for him," Lundqvist said with a chuckle. "We had a lot of fun with it. He knows how to put the puck in the net."

"He definitely won this one. No question. I have to give it to him."

Later in the period, Gaborik added another goal to make it 3-0 in favour of Team Chara. Despite the big deficit, Team Alfredsson fought back headed to the 1st intermission with the score tied 3-3 thanks to goals from Jason Spezza, Henrik Sedin and John Tavares.

Just one minute into the 2nd period, Marian Gaborik scored his third of the game which was assisted by fellow Slovakian Marian Hossa and Pavel Datsyuk. The "Marian Twins" showed some serious chemistry throughout the game. It was a duo I would love to see on a regular basis. After some more scoring in the 2nd, including two quick goals from hometown hero Daniel Alfredsson, the Teams headed to the third with another tie, at 6-6.

In the third, the Team's erupted for a total of nine goals. Daniel Alfredsson was denied many times by Tim Thomas in the third and was unable to get his hat-trick. Thomas won his fourth straight All-Star Game, a feat no other all-star goalie had ever reached. Captain Zdeno Chara got the game winning goal as his team won 12-9.

Gaborik was awarded the MVP for his tremendous effort despite chants of "Alfie, Alfie". All in all, the all-star game capped another great all-star weekend for NHL fans.

"This weekend is something I'm going to remember for the rest of my life," said Bruins forward Tyler Seguin.

"To have a weekend like this, it's surreal", said Daniel Alfredsson at the conclusion of the 2012 NHL All-Star Game. "You can never dream of anything like this, and you don't really know how to embrace it."

All-Star game was a lot of fun. Great to be a part of it. Cool to get a pic with Drake during intermission tonight too lockerz.com/s/179070144
