Only three days for the Predators to once again match up with the St. Louis Blues. After dropping the second home game of the season against the Blues in a shootout 4-3, the Predators were able to go to Minnesota on Tuesday and win in regulation 3-1. The Blues took their 2-0 start to the season and lost their first game of the year to Chicago 3-2 on Tuesday.
Tonight’s game can be found on 102.5 the Game with Tom Callahan and Stu Grimson warming up the pipes and viewed on FS Tennessee with hosts Pete Weber and Terry Crisp. Puck drop is at 7 PM Central.
The Predators and Blues are heated Central division rivals and have a very close game plan. Hitchcock and Trotz both employ the defensive first mentality, which is why most every game played between the Blues and Predators either is won by one goal or goes to overtime/shootout. 3 of 6 games last season went to a shootout.
St. Louis is stacked with talent from last season where they won the Centr...

Mason a fine option in tight schedule
Last season, Nashville Predators coach Barry Trotz had the luxury of going to the whip hand with his thoroughbred goalie Pekka Rinne without the fear of wearing him out.
In the early going, as his young team struggled to jell, Trotz rode Rinne hard to keep the Predators afloat. Late in the season, when he sensed that home-ice advantage for the Stanley Cupplayoffs would be crucial...

Blues rookie Tarasenko continues to impress
ST. LOUIS - So much for Russian Vladimir Tarasenko needing time to adjust to the NHL game. Turns out the rest of the league better start adjusting to him.
The rookie sensation scored his fourth goal in four games to start the season to help the St. Louis Blues to a 3-0 win over the Nashville Predators at Scottrade Center Thursday night.
Tarasenko arrived as one of the most-hyped...
Blues ride Halak's second shutout of season
ST. LOUIS -- Jaroslav Halak posted his second shutout of the young season for the Blues on Thursday night -- and he did not have to work very hard to get it. The St. Louis defense limited Nashville to 13 shots on goal and Patrik Berglund scored on a penalty shot and assisted on a power-play goal by T.J. Oshie to lead the Blues to a 3-0 victory over the Predators. "We'...
Three Minutes With: Preds prospect Zoltan Hetenyi…
During training camp last week, we sat down with Nashville Predators prospect Zoltan Hetenyi. The Hungarian goaltender was invited to Development Camp last summer and impressed the brass. As a result, he was offered a one-year contract within the organization. He’s been playing with the Predators’ ECHL affiliate, the Cincinnati Cyclones, ever since.
His 2.33 goals-against average...
Chip McCleary: 1/24, Blues vs. Predators - Recap: The Redden Show Begins
My 3 stars of the game:
1. T.J. Oshie, STL. Another power play goal, more sick moves with the puck, ⦠just a great game from him.
2. Patrik Berglund, STL. Asserted himself both offensively and defensively, and showed some feistiness after the whistle a couple times. His best game of the season so far. Oh yeah, something about a goal and an assist - but that's not...

Predators-Blues Preview
The NHL's 48-game lockout-shortened schedule will make teams plenty familiar with each other by the time the playoffs roll around in just a few months.
The St. Louis Blues and Nashville Predators are getting a taste of that early.

Recap: Goalless in St. Louis - The Preds lose another
Paragraph summary of the game.
Only two good things can be said about the tonights's Nashville Predators performance. The first is that Trotz won't need to be creative in upcoming practices; there is a near endless list of areas for improvement in the early season for this team. The team struggles to break out cleanly, to set up in the opponents zone, to get clean...
Predators Get First Win of the Season in Minnesota
The Preds snuck past the Minnesota Wild and Ryan Suter to get their first win of the 2013 abbreviated season. With goals by Spaling and Erat, Nashville competed all game but never looked like the best team on the ice. They had trouble handling Minnesota's top two lines and, in true Predators form, struggled to set up offensively. But none the less, the Preds avoided overtime...
Predators 3, Wild 1
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Martin Erat took advantage of a costly Wild turnover, scoring his first goal of the season into an empty net as the Nashville Predators won their first game of the season, 3-1 at Minnesota. Wild goalie Niklas Backstrom came out to play a loose puck, but could not get it past Erat, who intercepted the puck and scored with just over eight minutes left in the third...

Martin Erat’s game-winning goal at 11:45 of the third period would be the difference maker for Nashville as the Predators got their first win of the season, first road win of the year, and topped the Minnesota Wild tonight 3-1.

About Last Night…One-Goal Game Night in the NHL
Out of the seven games on Monday night, six of them ended up as one-goal games so we had our first night of tightly-played games of the season.
