Tampa Bay Lightning
Quick preview 'cause Greg is sick and I'm feeling like Tim Thomas doing 8 or 9 posts in a row. Might need to sign a blogger off waivers until Greg is back from the IR.Back to the game...Boston Bruins take on the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight and finally Marty Turco will get the nod for his first NHL start in over a year. He's starting two games too late but better late than never??? Of course we've been ******** a lot about the Bruins play but they're working with a rotating skeleton crew. We can't remember the last time the Bruins were all healthy or even 90% healthy. 'Tis the price one pays for a long playoff the season before. Taking into consideration the number of AHLers and plugs Julien is suiting up everynight, the Bruins aren't doing a horrible job.Doesn't make it any tougher to watch.Tampa Bay is sitting in 11th spot. So much for the 1-3-1. A far cry from last year's playoff.Speaking of the Thunderbug... remember when the mascot got can...

OK, so maybe Bruins fans shouldn't be out-of-their-chair excited for the 36-year-old Marty Turco's first start as a Bruin -- especially when he was in net for 40 minutes of Sunday's losing effort against Pittsburgh -- but hey, there's really not much else to get...
Marty Turco made his debut with the Boston Bruins after replacing Tim Thomas to start the second period of Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Turco made several stellar saves among his 20, but yielded two goals as the Penguins recorded their season-best ninth straight victory with a 5-2 triumph.
The 36-year-old Turco was playing in Austria prior to the Bruins signing...
The Bruins are struggling mightily right now, and things didn't get much better on Tuesday night against Tampa Bay. The Lightning pasted both Marty Turco and Tim Thomas -- and then Turco again -- en route to a 6-1 victory. The B's are banged-up and struggling to find their way, and the result looks to be a lack of confidence. NESN's Jack Edwards discusses that and more...
Marty Turco was impressive enough in relief to earn his first start as a Bruin. Turco put in two solid periods of work on Sunday after replacing Tim Thomas against the Penguins, and will get a chance to play a full game Tuesday night when the Bruins take on the Lightning. "I think it's time for him to come in there and help us out," Bruins coach Claude Julien told reporters...
Great video captured by @WickedBruinsFan of Marty Turco and Andrew Ference doing a little batting practice on the ice after a recent practice.Move over Baseketball, there's a new sport in town... umm... ugh... Basecky... no, how about Hockball... nevermind.Re: Ference nailing Turco with one pitch... this is exactly why hitters should be forced to wear less padding. Otherwise...
Having a rough day? Feeling a little run down? Why don't you just have your backup step in for you? That's what Tim Thomas and the Bruins are trying on Tuesday against the Lightning, giving Thomas a break and letting Marty Turco get his first start in a Bruins uniform. Tampa Bay is following suite, playing rookie netminder Dustin Tokarski in what NESN Nation's Dan Duquette...
Tim Thomas has played a lot of hockey as of late, and that may not be the best news for the Bruins and their fans hoping the B's can lean on the veteran goaltender once again this spring. Thomas' miraculous play was the backbone of the Bruins' Stanley Cup run last spring, and if they are to repeat as Cup champs, they're going to need that same Thomas between the pipes...
The Bruins will look to bounce back from Tuesday's 6-1 loss in Tampa and avoid their first four-game losing streak in over two years when they close out their three-game road trip against the Panthers in Sunrise, Fla. on Thursday. Tim Thomas was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate and is expected to get the start. He has appeared in 10 straight games, including...
This game was embarrassing for the Bruins. A few of their players injured themselves out of their own stupidity. Tim Thomas looked like a complete joke. The defending champions had no answer for the hottest team in the NHL.
Speaking of which, the Pens are like 21-4-something in their last however many games that stat is. That is unrealistic. ...
Boston Bruins' NESN play-by-play man Jack Edwards, who you may remember from such on-air moments as "The 12 Days Of Boston Christmas," Tim Thomas, the best goalie on earth!," "Unanimous Decision: Milan Lucic!" and "GET UP!," has found a way to top himself yet again. What's a homer announcer to do when his team's trailing 5-0 after two...
The Bruins had absolutely nothing last night and were rolled by the Tampa Bay Lightning 6-1 in down in Florida.
Bruins shockingly bad - Stephen Harris has the Bruins saying the right things before the game and still stinking the place up.
Seriously, it looks like the Bruins are going to lose the division - DJ Bean says that it sure looks like Ottawa will overtake the Bruins...
The Boston Bruins started the week off so positively. By the end of it, they’re back to where they started: scratching their heads about the exact same problems. The Bruins picked up two wins on Tuesday and Thursday, and then finished it up with two bad losses on Saturday and Sunday. Questions about their consistency, Tim Thomas’ goaltending and their ability to play with the...
Steven Stamkos reached the 50-goal plateau for the second time in his four-year career on Tuesday, as he buried his 49th and 50th tallies of the season in Tampa Bay's lopsided victory over the Bruins. Goal No. 49 showed off Stamkos' excellent hand-eye coordination and patience. The 22-year-old corralled a loose puck, brought it behind the net and slipped a wraparound past...
Sunday's game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and visiting Boston Bruins was over just seven minutes into it. First came Arron Asham beating the exhausted-looking Tim Thomas off a rebound. Then it was Matty Niskanen's fourth of the year that trickled through the 37-year-old's legs. Oh, you wanted some salt on that wound? Here, have an Adam McQuaid injury. But just when...
