Montreal Canadiens (17-21-8) @ Pittsburgh Penguins (25-17-4)
TV: ROOT, RDS, TSN-HABS, NHLN-US
Consol Energy Center - Pittsburgh, PA
The Pittsburgh Penguins have won four games in-a-row, but now they're playing back-to-back games in different cities and Montreal is in town. The Habs are pretty bad this year, but they're as annoying as always. The last time we saw them, they were trying to destroy Kris Letang. Letang returned to score the winning goal but then missed a great deal of time with a concussion.
Michael Cammalleri is gone from Montreal which makes us very happy. For the Pens, Jason Williams has been called up from WBS.
It's National Penguin Awareness Day.
Season Series: 2-0-0 Penguins.
Last meeting that counted: November 26, 2011. Penguins won 4-3 [OT].
What we said in our recap:
But so much **** happened in this game, as is the norm when hockey is played in Montreal. The funny part is t...

Pittsburgh Penguins right wing Arron Asham joined a slew of his teammates by being ruled out with concussion-like symptoms.
Asham suffered his symptoms after he was injured in a fight with Krys Barch of the Florida Panthers last Friday, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported. The Penguins have not confirmed that the 33-year-old Asham's concussion took place in that specific...
Kris Letang who has not played since he scored the overtime goal against Montreal back on November 26th, is scheduled to make his return to action tonight. The Penguins are in New York City ready to take on the Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference leading New York Rangers. Letang’s return is a great boost to the currently surging Penguins, who have won their last three...
The Canadiens blew a 4-2 lead Friday night, losing 5-4 in a shootout to Piitsburgh. The Habs have now won 1 of 8 shootouts, and scored 4 goals in them. But who’s counting?
Many will blame PK Subban for this loss, pegging him for the Dustin Jeffrey goal that started the comeback. I think that’s bunk. Scott Gomez was out of position, and the rest of the team basically stopped...
Carey Price quipped that he's scared of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Their recent play behind Evgeni Malkin is giving the Montreal Canadiens' goaltender good reason to be.
The Penguins will try to beat the Canadiens for a third time in a row and match their longest winning streak of the season Friday night at Consol Energy Center.
Pittsburgh (25-17-4) has won four consecutive...
In something of a surprise Friday, the Penguins recalled forward Jason Williams from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, although he did not dress for their game against Montreal at Consol Energy Center. Apparently, it was an insurance move.
Evgeni Malkin scored in his fifth straight game and added the lone goal in the shootout to give the Pittsburgh Penguins a 5-4 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Friday night.

No. 1 Star: Dustin Jeffrey, Pittsburgh Penguins
The Montreal Canadiens jumped out to a 3-1 lead in this game, but they couldn't stop the Penguins' dominant centre. No, not Evgeni Malkin -- Dustin Jeffrey, who scored twice and added an assist to keep the Penguins in the game. Speaking of Malkin though, he eventually went into beast mode and scored the game-tying goal.
Richard Park scored the go-ahead goal 2:23 into the third
period, Evgeni Malkin padded the lead with two, and Marc-Andre
Fleury made 30 saves to give the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins a 4-1
Crosby having a tough time figuring out his role while dealing with concussion-like symptoms.
A visit from a Washington Capitals team frequently struggling to score would seem to provide the surging Pittsburgh Penguins a good chance for their longest win streak in 2011-12.
The Capitals, though, haven't lost in Pittsburgh since the 2009 postseason and will try for their ninth consecutive regular-season victory there Sunday afternoon.

If there is a team in the league that simply doesn’t care for the whining that goes on about the Montreal Canadiens injury problems this season – it’s the Pittsburgh Penguins. Obviously missing Sidney Crosby (who remains 12th on team scoring despite only playing 8 games this season) hurts. But the Penguins have also missed considerable time from Kris Letang, Jordan Stall and...
